Colour components

The RGB colour model is an additive model in which the red, green, and blue primary colors of light are added together to reproduce a broad spectrum of colours. In the case of pink, using 8-bit 0–255 values for each channel, it is red 255, green 192, blue 203.

The CIELAB color space expresses color as three values: L* for perceptual lightness, and a* and b* for the colours of human vision: red-green, blue-yellow.

Pink is a pale red color. It is named after a flower named pink (Dianthus plumarius).

The world’s oldest colour is apparently bright pink! Scientists disovered pink pigments after they crushed 1.1 billion year old rocks found beneath the Sahara desert in about 2008.

In terms of colour temperature, pink is considered a warm colour.
